Free 25 Day Back to Work Challenge

A Free Confidence & Career Reset for Returners and Career Changers

Thinking about returning to work, changing careers, or figuring out what comes next?

You’re not alone.

Every year, thousands of experienced professionals step away from their careers for many different reasons — raising families, caring responsibilities, health, burnout, redundancy, or simply life taking a different direction.

But returning can feel overwhelming.

Confidence drops.
The workplace changes.
And often, people underestimate just how much value and experience they still bring.

That’s why Back To Work Connect created the 25 Day Back to Work Challenge — a free 25-day challenge designed to help you reconnect with your confidence, recognise your transferable skills, and take small practical steps towards your next chapter.

Based on the challenge framework outlined in the programme workbook

What Is The Challenge?

The 25 Day Back to Work Challenge is a guided month-long journey designed specifically for:

  • Returners
  • Career changers
  • Midlife professionals
  • Anyone rebuilding confidence around work and career direction

Through simple daily tasks and reflections, you’ll:
✔ rebuild confidence
✔ recognise your strengths
✔ identify transferable skills
✔ refresh your CV and LinkedIn
✔ reconnect with the world of work
✔ take practical action towards your goals

No pressure.
No judgement.
No expectation to have everything figured out.

Just one small step at a time.

What To Expect

Week 1 — Reconnect With Yourself

This week focuses on confidence, self-belief, and recognising the strengths you already have.

You’ll explore:

  • the skills you use every day

  • who you are beyond your career break

Example activities include:

  • “What would your future self thank you for starting today?”
  • Identifying everyday skills and strengths
  • Reflecting on your experience before your career break
  • Asking others what they believe you’re good at

Week 2 — Recognise Your Value

This week is about shifting mindset and recognising that your experience still matters.

You’ll explore:

  • transferable skills
  • reframing career gaps
  • recognising achievements
  • understanding your value in today’s workplace

Example activities include:

  • rewriting your professional story
  • creating a personal “wins list”
  • identifying skills that transfer into future roles
  • reflecting on what people naturally seek your help with

Week 3 — Re-enter The World of Work

This week introduces practical, manageable career steps.

You’ll:

  • refresh your LinkedIn or CV
  • browse opportunities
  • explore Returner-friendly roles
  • practise explaining your career break confidently

Example activities include:

  • updating one thing on your profile
  • spending time exploring opportunities
  • applying for a role, even if you don’t meet every requirement
  • writing a confident explanation of your career break

Week 4 — Take Action

The final week is focused on confidence through action.

You’ll:

  • learn something new
  • practise introducing yourself
  • reconnect with professional contacts
  • celebrate how far you’ve come

Example activities include:

  • messaging a former colleague
  • practising interview introductions
  • reflecting on the progress you’ve made during the challenge

Who Is This For?

This challenge is for anyone who has ever thought:

  • “I don’t know where to start.”
  • “My confidence has taken a knock.”
  • “The workplace has changed so much.”
  • “I’m worried my experience is outdated.”
  • “I’m not sure anyone would hire me.”

If that sounds familiar, this challenge was created with you in mind.

Why Join?

Because your career break does not erase:
