• Qualification number (QN): Total Qualification Time (TQT): 75 hours, Guided learning hours (GLH): 50 hours, Level: 3

-Internally assessed and externally moderated portfolio of evidence.
Total Qualification Time (TQT)
Total Qualification Time is the number of notional hours which represents an estimate of the total amount of time that could reasonably be expected to be required in order for a learner to achieve and demonstrate the achievement of the level of attainment necessary for the award of a qualification.
Total Qualification Time comprises:
• the Guided Learning Hours for the qualification
• an estimate of the number of hours a learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation, study or any other form of participation in education or training, including assessment, which takes place as directed by – but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of – a lecturer, supervisor, Tutor or other appropriate provider of education or training.

Qualification purpose
This qualification is designed for learners starting a Lingotot franchise who need a good understanding in the basics of franchising, business operations and financial management. It has been developed to enthuse, inspire and equip learners ready for their franchise business career. The qualification will appeal to learners who wish to set up their own Lingotot business as a Franchise Partner.

This qualification aims to:
• develop a broad and comprehensive understanding of business and franchising
• develop a good knowledge core which spans the franchising sector
• provide academic and study skills that will support progression within business more broadly.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• add breadth to their knowledge and understanding of the sector as part of their career as a Lingotot Franchise Partner
• progress to a level 3 qualification.
Throughout the delivery of this qualification, the following core areas and transferable skills
should be evident:
• team work - the qualification requires learners to work with others throughout communication skills
• presentation skills – learners will learn to present their work to those around them in a suitable way and will also learn the most appropriate way of communicating as an entrepreneur
• use initiative – learners will learn what initiative is and why it is important for an entrepreneur or business person
• work independently – learners will understand how to work independently on specific tasks.
The international children’s languages business, Lingotot, has developed a new qualification, the Award in Business Franchising, specifically for new Franchise Partners welcomed by the company who need to improve their business skills. The qualification is a Level 3 Award approved by and accredited by NCFE, the UK-based national Awarding Organisation, passionate about designing, developing and certifying qualifications and awards. NCFE awards are recognised internationally.
Lingotot will put all of its new Franchise Partners through the award to make sure they have all the skills necessary to launch and lead a successful Lingotot business. The new qualification will equip learners with the necessary knowledge in finance, business planning, monitoring and marketing in addition to demonstrating a proper understanding of the franchise sector.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to further Level 3 qualifications and
A levels in business.
As the qualification is targeted toward setting up a new business there are many and
varied qualifications that would be useful to study along with.
