Since its formation in 1993, the CityJet brand has stood for excellence in service.
We started out providing a direct link from Dublin to the new London City Airport and have evolved into a pan-European operator delivering capacity to customer airlines across Europe. Since 2018, our flights have all been operated on behalf of customer airlines – we do not fly scheduled flights under our own brand. Click here to see a brief history of CityJet
Our business model is simple. We provide capacity as a service, and we deliver this to customer airlines who require flights to be operated under “wet lease” agreements rather than doing them themselves.
We provide our aircraft and crew and also maintain and insure the aircraft under an “ACMI” wet lease agreement. Our customer decides where and when we fly the aircraft, what routes it should operate on and is also responsible for the sale of seats to passengers and any operating costs – such as fuel or airport fees – which are incurred. Our crews operate the services in our aircraft, delivering the product our customer airline requires.
Today, CityJet employs almost 600 staff with a fleet of 21 CRJ900 aircraft, the majority under a wet lease contract for SAS Scandinavian Airlines. All aircraft are based in Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Although the airline is registered in Ireland, the majority of our staff are employed in Copenhagen and Stockholm, where over 450 of our team members are based both in flying and non-flying roles.
Our maintenance centre and offices at Hangar 3 in Copenhagen Kastrup Airport provide line maintenance on our fleet as well as crew training and HR services. The airline’s administration base, including our Operations Control Centre/OCC and Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation/CAMO, is at Dublin Airport. Our crew planning centre is located in Luton, England.
We continually recruit for roles within the organisation and have recently recommenced providing type rating courses for CRJ900 crew members. For current vacancies, please visit our careers portal.
Our accreditations include IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and the Lufthansa Group Common Airline Risk Assessment (CARA). CityJet also holds TCO approval from the UK CAA.
