Upskilling or refreshing your knowledge\nin your chosen profession can be a vital component of your return to work game\nplan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It not only helps strengthen your job\napplication and demonstrates to potential employers that you are committed to self-development<\/strong>, but it can also increase your confidence<\/strong> during the\ninterview process \u2013 and of course, when you start a new job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reskilling, however, can take time, money\nand a certain level of commitment that, unfortunately, many of us cannot\nafford. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you are time-poor, on a budget or\nrequire a course that works around your schedule, Springboard+ courses <\/strong>could be the flexible upskilling option for\nyou. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Springboard+?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Springboard+<\/strong><\/a> is a Government initiative that aims to reskill or upskill people<\/strong> in areas\nwhere job opportunities are growing in Ireland by providing free or heavily\nsubsidised (typically 90%) places on selected higher education courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter your industry or interests, the reskilling options are boundless! In fact, there are currently 11,602 places are available across over 300 courses under Springboard+ 2022-23<\/strong> and 2,316 places are available across 89 courses funded under the Human Capital Initiative Pillar 1 2022-23<\/strong> The opportunities span nationwide and across various booming industries and emerging technologies such as Finance, Business, Project Management, Marketing, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Manufacturing,  Pharma, IT and  Data Analytics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is eligible?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Springboard+\ncourses are available to the unemployed, returners<\/strong>,\npreviously self-employed, the employed and recent graduates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To qualify for a free <\/strong>Springboard+ course,<\/strong>\nyou must be unemployed, actively seeking work and available for work. If you\nmeet the criteria for either the\nReturner or Unemployed category<\/strong><\/a>,\nyour fees will be fully covered, regardless of the course\u2019s NFQ level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are employed, you must pay a 10%\ncontribution towards the course fee at levels 7, 8 and 9 on the NFQ. However,\nlevel 6 courses are free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s\nworth noting that you need to be living in the Republic of Ireland at the time\nof course commencement and meet the nationality and residency requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What types of courses are\navailable on Springboard+?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most Springboard+ programmes are a form of\nblended learning<\/strong>, combining a fusion\nof online and classroom learning experiences. The majority of courses are\noffered on a part-time basis for a maximum of 12 months.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Courses range in terms of accreditation;\nhowever, all Springboard+ courses are either recognised on the NFQ or are\naligned to the framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Springboard+ courses have different start\ndates, but the majority begin from September<\/strong>\nonwards. You can browse upcoming Springboard\ncourses on our online course directory<\/strong><\/a>\nor directly on the Springboard website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to apply for a\nSpringboard+ course?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Assuming\nyou meet the eligibility criteria, applying for a Springboard+ course is a\nrelatively straightforward process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\napplication process typically looks like this: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> <\/strong>Check\nyour eligibility<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Register on the Springboard website and\nlog in to your account<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> <\/strong>Browse\nand select a Springboard+ course<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> <\/strong>Fill\nin the online application form and required paperwork <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> Check the status of your application via\nyour account at any time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
