If you want to hire Returners, you can\u2019t just say you\u2019re \u201copen to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have to design for it. This is where Back to Work Connect see so many organisations getting stuck. They genuinely want to be more inclusive. They want to access new talent pools. But their hiring process is still built for one very traditional, very linear career path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spend a lot of time looking at the hiring journey from the candidate\u2019s perspective \u2014 and small changes make a big difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Creating structured returner programmes<\/strong> (like returnships) to rebuild confidence and bridge skills
\u2022 Being clear about support<\/strong> \u2014 mentorship, onboarding, training
\u2022 Simplifying job descriptions<\/strong> and actually welcoming non-linear careers
\u2022 Rethinking interviews \u2014 do panels really show you the best talent?
\u2022 Building diverse interview panels<\/strong>
\u2022 Offering flexibility and fair, equitable packages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of this is radical, but it only works if everyone is aligned<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From leadership \u2192 to hiring managers \u2192 to interview panels \u2192 to recruiters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because if one part of the process is inclusive, but another part is full of bias or outdated thinking\u2026 you lose people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And usually, you lose the exact people you\u2019re trying to attract. That\u2019s why this isn\u2019t a quick fix, it\u2019s an end-to-end shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
